Retford Masonic Hall
About Us
A Brief History
Retford Masonic Hall is housed in a former cinema originally called The Regent, later renamed The Ritz, which closed in 1957. The Hall is one of the few remaining art deco buildings in Retford.
In 1962 the building was offered for sale and was purchased by the Vernon Masonic Lodge. Internal alterations were made to make the building suitable for holding Masonic meetings. In 1967 East Retford Lodge was formed, followed by Carolgate Lodge in 1980.
The roof was replaced in 2010 and since that time the interior has been redecorated to a high standard in the art deco style.
